Heidi and Kyle have been together since high school, and their love story is a testament to the fact that opposites really do attract. He is big and outgoing, a musician and a chess teacher, while she is delicate and humble, working as a paralegal. Yet, despite their differences, their love bloomed and flourished over the years. Their North Carolina wedding day finally arrived after 12 years of dating, and they chose to tie the knot at Camp Lutherock in Newland, NC - a place that was very meaningful to them, where they had taken many hikes together and which could accommodate their 150 guests from various parts of the country.
The wedding ceremony was a beautiful reflection of their love story, with touches of their personalities and backgrounds present throughout the day. Kyle's Texas roots were represented by some of the guests wearing cowboy hats and by the groom's Blood Red Velvet Armadillo Cake from the movie Steel Magnolias. Many guests mentioned that Kyle's friendly nature brought them to "that mountain" for the wedding, and the view was indeed breathtaking.
The arch for their Lutheran ceremony was set up on the veranda of the Lutherock Camp and Conference Center. Heide's uncle officiated the ceremony, which was meaningful and enchanting, and even included the parents' blessings of the couple. The rolling hills of North Carolina were covered in their light green leaves of spring, perfectly matching the yellow and blue wedding colors represented in the chiffon blue dresses of the bridesmaids and the blue shirts of the groomsmen, as well as the intricate details of the centerpieces. One of the two adorable flower girls was too little to walk, so they were delivered to the aisle in a wagon! :-) Heide was wearing her grandmother's pearls, which her mom helped her put on.
Their wedding party included nine bridesmaids and nine groomsmen, which was quite a challenge for me as a photographer to fit into a group picture! The sun was also playing tricks on us, going in and out of the clouds, and had us running back and forth, trying to find the most flattering light. But we managed to do it all with laughter, and the laid-back and festive atmosphere of the day continued through the couple's first dance, where a live band was playing. Live music was a big part of the day, with Kyle even singing a beautiful song he had written. It continued with a musical duo of a playful and intricate musical competition between him with a guitar and a talented violinist wearing a cowboy hat.
Heide and Kyle's first look outside was a precious moment, beautifully captured in photographs. Don't miss three of my favorite things: 1. Heide's bridal portraits - look at this stunning bride in her elegant long wedding gown, reflecting the solemnity and significance of the occasion! 2. The genuine emotion of Kyle's mom during the son and mother dance! 3. Pictures of the happy couple holding hands and seeming like they couldn't get enough of each other. Precious!!!
Their wedding day was a joyous celebration of their journey and the start of their new life together, surrounded by the love and support of their friends and family. It was an honor to capture the magic of their special day, and I wish them all the happiness in the world as they embark on their exciting adventure as husband and wife!

KYLE’S REVIEW:
"Wonderful experience! Elena did a great job of capturing every little detail of our wedding. Extremely professional and efficient. She was also very flexible with us when we ended up needing her for a few more hours on our wedding day. I highly Recommend Elena and Focus on the Moment!"
